Our Philanthropy      

 

    » Philanthropy: An activity performed with the goal of promoting the well-being of a fellow man. (Dictionary.com)

    » Alpha Delta Pi adopted the Ronald McDonald House (RMH) as its national philanthropy in 1979.  Ronald McDonald Houses are located worldwide and provide an affordable "home away from home" for families of seriously ill children in nearby hospitals.  In addition to donating money to this worthwhile cause, many Alpha Delta Pi collegiate chapters and alumnae associations spend their time and energy volunteering at these houses.  

    » For our philanthropic event, each fall, the women of ADPi at Semo host a soccer tournament called 'Kickin' It with ADPi.'  Fraternities and soroities on campus help by raising money and collecting pop tabs to be donated to the Ronald McDonald House, in order to play in the tournament. We also host a male pageant called Big Man on Campus, where men from each fraternity compete in different categories like: best costume, group dance, question&answer, and talent. Tab collection, along with Big Man, determine seating for the big tourney the next day!
    » For 2011, the winner of Big Man on Campus was Sigma Chi; the winner of Tab Collection was Sigma Chi; and the overall winner of first place in the freezing, cold weather at Kickin' It was the men of Sigma Chi! Congratulations, and thanks to every fraternity who participated in Kickin' It this year.
    » We also participate in Pop Tab Pandemonium each spring.  Pop Tab Pandemonium is held at the RMH in St. Louis and is a year-round project for the members of ADPi.  We collect pop tabs off soda cans, we recycle them, and all the money we raise goes straight to the RMH!  This year we collected 50 lbs. of pop tabs for Pop Tab Pandemonium!  While we are there, we also get to interact with children and families staying at the Ronald McDonald House; It's a great way to see where our hard work and effort really goes.

     » In addition to the RMH, ΑDPi supports other fraternities and sororities in their philanthropic efforts for their designated charities.
